The Federal Agency for Education is a federal executive authority performing functions of rendering of government services, state-owned property management as well as law enforcement duties in the sphere of education, upbringing and youth policy.

The Federal Agency for Education carries out in the set sphere of activity:

a) organizing the activities of educational institutions of general, vocational and extended education on rendering of government services in the sphere of education;

b) organizing of further training and retraining of scientific and educational workers of public institutions of higher vocational education and state scientific organizations operating in the system of higher education and Post-Graduate vocational education.
