Mr. Sergei MAZURENKO

Deputy Minister of Education and Science

Born on June, 6, 1949, in the city of Ordzhonikidze, of North-Ossetian ASSR.

In 1973 graduated from the Moscow institute of physics and technology with the profession "Automatics and electronics", an engineer-physicist.

From 1973 to 1989 worked in scientific-research institute of physical problems of Moscow (NIIFP) - worked as engineer, post-graduate, head of group, senior scientific employee, head of laboratory, head of department.

In 1989-2002 - the deputy director on scientific work - the main engineer of the State research institute of physical problems of F.M.Lukin, professor, the head of "Molecular technologies" department at the Moscow institute of electronic technique.

In March, 2002, was appointed the deputy Minister of industry, science and technologies of the Russian Federation.

On March, 13, 2004, was appointed the head of the Federal agency of science, which was transformed to the Federal agency of science and innovation on May, 20, 2004.

On June, 9, 2004, was appointed the head of the Federal agency of science and innovation.

On March, 25, 2010, by the order of the Prime-minister of the Russian Federation was appointed the deputy Minister of education and science of the Russian Federation.

A member of the Government council on nanotechnologies, of the Marine board of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Since 2003 represents the Russian Federation in the governing bodies of the International partnership on hydrogen energy, the International forum on sequestration of carbon, is the co-chairman of Russian-American innovative council on high technologies.

By the order of the Government of Russia in November, 2007, was appointed the representative of the Russian Federation in the Council of the International organization ITER on thermonuclear energy.

Co-chairman of Inter-governmental sub-commissions with India, China, Ukraine and South Africa.

Is the author of 120 scientific works and 30 inventions, three of which in different time were awarded by the medals of the International salon of inventors in Brussels.

Laureate of the award of the Government of Russia of 2006 in the field of science and technique.

Ph. D. in Physics & Math.

Is married, has two sons.
