Mrs. Alina LEVITSKAYA

Director of Department of the State Policy Concerning the Youth, Education and Social Protection of Children

She was born on August 4th, 1954 in the city of Vladikavkaz (The Republic of Northern Ossetia).

In 1971 she graduated from secondary school with a gold medal and entered the Faculty of Languages and Literature of the North Ossetia State University. She graduated with honors in 'Russian Language and Literature'.

In 1983 she graduated from the internal post-graduate course of the Chair of General Linguistics of the Philological Faculty of the Leningrad State University with the presentation of a Thesis.

From 1981 she worked in the North Ossetian University as: Assistant, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, Professor, and in 1993 she was elected to Dean of the Faculty of Russian Philology.

In 1997 she was appointed to Deputy Minister of General and Professional Education of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, and was in charge of vocational training. In 2002 she was appointed to Minister of General and Professional Education of the Republic.

In 2005 she was appointed to First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, and was in charge of general education in schools, and the education and social protection of childhood.

From November 2006 she heads the Department of State Policy Concerning Youth, Education and the Social Protection of Children of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Ph. D. (in philology).

She has the title of 'Honoured Worker in Education in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania'.

She is married, and has two daughters and a son.
