SUPPORT OF LEADING HIGH SCHOOLS

The state support of leading high schools

       On November 21, 2009 Prime Minister Vladimir Putin announced allocation from the federal budget the additional financial assets for target support of leading Russian high schools.

       "That money will be spent to renovate the research and laboratory base, the programme of scientific exchange, to bring the best scientists from abroad, including our fellow countrymen who are currently working elsewhere", - marked V.Putin: "As a result such universities should move to advanced standing in world education and science ratings and become an important element in the national innovation system.".

       90 billion rubles are planned to be given additionally from the federal budget for the state support of leading high schools in 2010-2012, 30 billion rubles each year.

Directions, which are realized within the support of leading high schools

• Support of development programs of Lomonosov Moscow state university and Saint-Petersburg state university
• Support of federal universities regarding modernisation of research process and innovative activity
• Support of national research universities
• Development of cooperation of the Russian high schools and the industrial enterprises
• Attracting leading scientists to Russian universities
• Development of an innovative infrastructure in the Russian high schools
• Support of scientific projects realised by leading high schools and leading scientific organisations in common
