The state support area of focus of the Priority National Project 'Education' is designated for provision of the necessary conditions for the realization of the innovative potential of Russian youth. Participation of talented, able youths in the National project is considered in the long-term to be a most important factor, and a resource for the development of society. Its active inclusion in educational, economic, political and social processes is able to give additional momentum to the development both of a particular region, and the country as a whole.

This area of focus of the Priority National Project provides for the annual selection of 5,350 young talents from all regions of Russia. In accordance with the Decree of the President of Russia, 1,250 children who are the winners of Russian Olympiads and silver and bronze medalists of international Olympiads receive a reward of 60,000 rubles, and 4,100 young talented children who also are the winners of regional Olympiads and prize-winners of Russian Olympiads receive a reward of 30,000 rubles.

Part of prize winners are selected by the federal Center from the number of prize-winners of international Olympiads and winners of Russian Olympiads among pupils, vocational training students, students, as well as the winners and prize-winners of All-Russian youth contests who are promoted by the Federal executive bodies and All-Russian (international) public associations. From them, 1,250 were awarded with a prize of 60,000 rubles, and 2,500 received 30,000 rubles each.
